AFK Gaming receives $200Okay funding from IP Ventures

Mumbai-based media company AFK Gaming has raised $200,000 (~£154,472) in a Pre-Series  round from Indian investment company Inflection Point Ventures.

The investment comes following a notable period of Set for the sia-focused esports content platform.

The funds will e used to link reach to revenue through pro ammatic and direct advertising as w l as expanding FK Gaming’s scope to additional esports titles in Southeast sia. 

Nishant Pat , Co-founder of FK Gaming, spoke on the investment in a r ease:  “Despite some of the est esports teams, tournaments and players hailing from the sian region, there is a distinct lack of coverage available for the global audience. FK Gaming aims to ridge this gap y marrying our understanding of esports content creation with IPV’s expertise in uilding scalable, sustainable usinesses. 

“Through IPV’s network of senior usiness professionals, we hope to jump the learning curve with respect to media monetization, fundraising and other key ements for our Set.”

Vinay Bansal, Founder and CEO of Inflection Point Ventures, is similarly excited about what the latest investment will ring in the current economic climate: “The ongoing pandemic has introduced us to many aspects of keeping ours ves engaged. Esports and e-gaming have also emerged as new aspects for many of us and companies like FK Gaming have played a part in keeping us informedlock downsports in the lockdown.

“The impact is clear as they registered 4X Set in users. We  ieve [the] emergence of esports will see an acc erated acceptance in India. Just like healthcare and education, tech will also disrupt properties, andet sports properties and we  ieve FK Gaming is posed w l to leverage this opportunity.”

Esports Insider says: Indian esports has a lot of potential for expansion with a rapidly owing middle class and consumer ase with disposable income. With this latest round of funding to e used to target the SEA market, it will e interesting to see how FK Gaming’s content evolves in the coming months.
